It all started with a dream. A
dream comes thru, after almost 1 year trying to get a place for Martial Arts
Festival Bercy,France. Finally Silat Seni Gayong performed on 15 February 2014. Once Silat
Seni Gayong was given a chance back in 1990 to performed at that venue. On that
year the team coming with other Malaysian Arts, Silat Gayong Fatani,Silat
Sendeng and a Ngajat dancer ,a dance of war from Sarawak. Their coming for the
event are fully under the umbrella of Ministry of Sports. Thumb up to all the
team and especially team Silat Seni Gayong Malaysia.

The discussion for performing at
Martial Arts Festival Bercy was rapidly made upon the achievement of a
demonstration and introduction of Silat Seni Gayong at few countries in Europe.
It was April 2013,since then a contact was made with the organiser for a place
for Silat Seni Gayong. Started with few correspondence and a video which are
the requirements before the decision. After a rejection and again discussion
made, finally a official meeting was set for further action which was on
September 2013. During the meeting with the organiser, few guidelines were
agreed and a briefing about the event were made. A list of team members were
listed out for the organiser to write an official letter and it was officially
stated Silat Seni Gayong will be performing at Martial Arts Festival Bercy on
15 February 2014.The letter was dated in October 2013.

From that time an effort were
highly made to get a sponsor for the team coming. More than 50 letters with
proposal were send to many bodies, government and non government and until the
last day before the team leave for Bercy only one reply supporting the effort.
Thanks to Onedrop Sdn Berhad for their believing on us Silat Seni Gayong. And
also for those who rejected us thank you as well and hoping that this is not
our time and maybe for the coming future event which are on schedule.
And not to forget thanks to
gelanggang KHTC and all the members for all the effort and sacrifice and being
the MAIN SPONSOR for the Martial Arts Festival Bercy 2014. What we do is for
Silat Seni Gayong and the benefit goes to all Silat Seni Gayong no matters what
banner.

After getting the news all
members started preparing for the international event and this event is solely
for SILAT SENI GAYONG and the materialised of this event comes from anak-anak
Gayong from gelanggang KHTC Malaysia and France. Pressure was there, time is concerned,
commitment is high etc and all are doing their best to give all the best.
Total team members will
performing at the event is 14 person. As plan it will be 15 person but due to
not getting a leave our sad brother Farady from Perlis has to be leave behind.
Anyway thanks for all the supports for this great moment. The 11 team members
from Malaysia will be joining another 3 team members from France . The team
will be having a training together at Kajyn Sports Club, Paris, France for 4
days before the actual day. It is a full day training for coordinating,
simultaneously etc and a 5 hours full training a day. As usual it is not free
training place and we have to pay for it. The payment comes from our own pocket
money and thanks to our main sponsor KHTC.

Off all the hard work finally it paid.
On the actual day of the event the team is getting a big applauded from the
audience which are around 15000people surrounding the prestigious stadium. Silat
Seni Gayong getting all the applause from the audience before the demo ends. It
is a very touching moment and all the team members wipe with tears and joy
because all their effort sharing Silat Seni Gayong has been appreciated.
The international medias taking
turned interviewing the team, from Iraq TV, from Radio, from Guadeloupe etc. It
was a very spectacular day and moment not to be forget. There are also request
from other European countries on Silat Seni Gayong. Overall the sacrifice is
highly paid not to KHTC but to Silat Seni Gayong. What we do is not for KHTC
but for all the family of Silat Seni Gayong.
