KHTC - Demonstration

The best way to share and promoting is through a demonstration. That is what gelanggang KHTC being doing all this years. In Malaysia the weather is always sunny giving a chance for all year round demonstration on any venue. It has been considered as an event for any occasion. It is part of the culture, silat been performed in event such as married, sports day, opening ceremony of special events etc.

The Demo Team

Gelanggang KHTC performed a demonstration last weekend 22 June 2014 at a primary school in Section 25 ,Shah Alam. The performance due to the sports day of the school and at the same time it act as promotions tool for new season of Gayong Club at the school. For all the years since 2010 the school choose Silat Seni Gayong as their extra curriculum activities. Since then it has generated many of his students learning the art.

On that demonstration various techniques were performed such as short baton , knife ,empty hand etc. The demonstrators are woman, man, children of Silat Seni Gayong. With this kind of event silat lived in the heart of the Malays and this culture grew zest always in their daily life.

KHTC - Malay Tekpi / Sai

In Japan , it was called Sai, in Indonesia it called Trisula and in Malaysia it called Tekpi. A weapon with three branch, two short at side and a long branch in the middle. It was told and known as the king of all weapons. How true it is, we have to find out what is the significant of this weapon. The design look the same weather Japanese or Malay tekpi/sai but in full view it is totally different. The Japanese tekpi/sai are build in round while the Malay tekpi/sai are build in having sides. The other different the Japanese tekpi/sai are not that sharp at the edge while Malay tekpi/sai are sharp.

In terms of maneuvering it is almost the same, the used of mother finger to changed the position of the weapon. The used of the edge and beginning of the tekpi/sai which are look like an hammer. All this point are used for striking and locking. The two short branch function are the most important in maneuvering in this weapon art. There are flip ,stab ,throw ,resist ,fend are the main criteria of the tekpi. In Silat Seni Gayong the art of tekpi are consists of movement, escape, hitting and locking which are utilized with the tekpi.

All the training in this art are to make ready for the student to used tekpi as a weapon. How it will counter with various weapons, How to flip ,stab etc and especially countering other weapons with throw, fend etc. All this techniques will be taught accordingly as per such curriculum in order for mastering the art, especially when maneuvering and changing the movement of the weapon.

KHTC - New Gelanggang {Dojo}

We had a training place before which are located at Kajang,Selangor. Due, to some reason we had to closed the place. Until then we are searching for a new location and a better than what we had previously. Finally, all the searching ended at a place called Padang Jawa,Shah Alam. Yes, there is where our new training center is situated. Just opposite of Padang Jawa Road Transport Department {JPJ} and is easy access by bus, by owned transportation and the best part of it by KTM Train station Padang Jawa. It is just walking distant from the train station. If compared with our previous dojo this is far than better logistics location.

Working are taken place to decorate the gelanggang and cleaning before officially used for training. Situated at 3rd floor and at an end lot with easy parking, restaurant, view and calm environment for good training. After training there are a vast shop lot of restaurant ,should be a place for chatting and building and tighten the brotherhood of Gayong. The location is very centered where all needs are there.

Alhamdulillah, thanks to all of their effort in getting the dojo and a good and upgraded training place. The gelanggang is fixed with small rooms for "anak-anak Gayong" to stay while taking care of the place. For all anak-anak Gayong when they are on trip and at that time happen to be in that area and needed a place for a short night are welcome. It would not be a five star hotel but should be comfort for a family of Silat Seni Gayong.

KHTC - Anak-Anak Gayong Bretagne

Bretagne situated in west of France. At a small town, Ploulech a group of anak-anak Gayong Bretagne do their training. Their schedule is every Thursday night for 2 hours. This group are lead by Cikgu Daud. Before they moved  to Ploulech, anak-anak Gayong  trained at Lannion another small town nearby. Started with a small group and know is growing after the promo made on Martial Arts Festival Bercy,Paris. At least all the hard work paid. The development is also been received by all Silat Seni Gayong thru out the country and that is a positive mark.

Although they are just a small group but they trained hard and trying all their best to understand the teaching. At their training place they are always been visited by different martial arts for friendship such as Bokator,Silat Merpati Putih etc. It is because the brotherhood in martial arts.

They are also active around their region and has performed in a demonstration for relief and social function. Their act make them as ambassador of this art and culture by introducing to their community. Thumbs up for their effort and enthusiasm.

A demand and a call from individual to train in the art grew since the 15 February 2014 due to the promo at Bercy,Paris. As far as Guingamp a demand from few individual to come to Ploulech to train Silat Seni Gayong. This year is a promo year and a plan was made to open a class for children for the session 2014-2015.And we thanks for all anak-anak Gayong Bretgane for all their effort of promoting this beautiful art. KHTC - New Gelanggang MAHSA UNIVERSITY COLLEGE

After a few discussion and meeting finally on Friday, 14 February 2014 Silat Seni Gayong under the supervision of KHTC started their first training at MAHSA UNIVERSITY COLLEGE. At that time KHTC was  performing at Festival Mratial Arts Paris Bercy. The first training was conducted by Muhammad Hanees after a blessing given by the Kumbang Hitam while waiting for Cikgu Zul Sawa to return.

A promotion were made to get more participants and on the 8 March 2014 at 1700 a demonstration was performed  at AIS International Day 2014.The club is an International student club who further  their learning at MAHSA.

On that demonstration day, a comment was given by the spectators which are international students from various nationality. The comment are "killer", it stated that the art of Silat Seni Gayong is truly for defending and an art of survival in a combative situation.

The schedule training at MAHSA is on every Monday at 2100 to 2300 and on Friday at 1730 to 1930.The training is open to all faculties and it has been authorise by the university. It is just started and the demand is so great. KHTC is highly appreciated of this new gelanggang and thank you for all the Gayong students there in belief of KHTC in delivering and sharing the legacy of Silat Seni Gayong.
